It was originally contemplated to publish Calhoun's works under the direction of the Legislature of S. C., which explains the half-title imprint. The project miscarried, but was revived by a New York publisher, who produced the works in 6 vols., 1853-56. This work, with Columbia imprint is scarce. Item #101475
