Partial printed document completed in handwritten script and signatures of Principal Officers of the South Carolina Grand Lodge of AFM sent to the Vermont Grand Lodge posted at Charleston on 17 May 1827. Double fold letterhead with embossed seal of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free- Masons of South Carolina, then folded in twelfths, shadow of wax seal and addressed to Azro A. Buck, Esq./G Sec G Lodge ?Vermont/Chelsea/Vermont, postmark CHAR.N S.C., 1827. Letter was to provide signature samples for the officers, which each has signed. Benjamin Faneuil Hunt - Grand Master (Hunt was a State Representative), Richard W Cogdell - Deputy Grand Master, Alexander McDonald - Senior Grand Warden (he may have been an officer in the Revolutionary War), Jno B Tchard (sp?) - Junior Grand Warden, Moses Holbrook - Grand Treasurer (he was a doctor), Cedrick (sp?)
