Light scattered foxing but internally quite clean. Former New Jersey Historical Society copy. Some tears along the fold lines of the map. The map is very often missing from the set, so it is uncommon to see it present in this set.
An excellent collection of important and rare foundation works in the history of South Carolina. An interesting early attempt to bring together and reprint rare pamphlets for the history of a state. Begins with a brief description of the province of Carolina from 1666, originally printed for Robert Horne, and continues with over thirty additional works from the 17th and 18th centuries.
