Vol. 2: frontis map-A PLAN OF CHARLES TOWN featuring a tiny tear at the right margin, small loss in lower margin, some foxing and staining, interior pages with heavier foxing than volume 1. Both volumes with handwritten index on endpages.
A standard work, by the prolific historian and native son. This copy is uncommon in that it has BOTH maps in remarkable condition! The better part of the book is devoted to the southern campaigns of the Revolution, and to biographies of prominent early Carolinians.
