Raleigh, North Carolina: Bowen & Turner. 1834. xii, 343pp. Hardcover bound in marbled boards and black leather compartmentalized spine. The text is Good, but there is light to moderate foxing. The first pages are nearly detached and there are some obvious dampstaining, but that is primarily confined to the first few pages. What sets this copy apart is that it is SIGNED by the author, Jones, on the ffep. Not Ex-Lib.

Relates largely the history of the administration of Josiah Martin, the last of the royal governors in North Carolina, followed by several chapters on the succeeding Whig government, and material on the Revolutionary period.
