This copy is missing over half of the last two pages (103,104). Copyright date of 1870 present on page 104. Garnett Andrews was an Unionist who opposed secession before the Civil War. His daughter was Eliza Francis Andrews, author of "War Time Journal of a Georgia Girl." Garnett Andrews started his law career in Georgia in 1822 and participated in cases regarding Creek Indian treaties in Wilkes County during the 1820's. Later, he was appointed Judge of the Northern Georgia circuit in Dahlonega in the 1830's hearing cases involving gold discoveries.Howes A 256.
