A History of the noted Southern militia unit that was organized in February, 1736, by General Oglethorpe to protect the Colony of Georgia from the threats posed by Indians and Spanish forces in Florida. Hussars also served in the Mexican and Civil War. It remained a horse cavalry until 1940. The Hussars were the third oldest military unit in the United States and was absorbed into the Georgia National Guard in recent years. Item #100343
