This copy is INSCRIBED by the Author to Major General (Winfield) Scott. With a location notation of American Hotel N.Y. also in the same hand.

The author, John Lyde Wilson, (1784-1849) was Governor of South Carolina from 1822 to 1824. Quite SCARCE, and an extremely rare South Carolina imprint.
