Newbern, North Carolina: Printed by James Davis, 1774. [4], 404, [3] pp.. Full Leather binding, with boards slightly bowed and hinges tender. A good deal of tanning and foxing within the text. Also a good amount of 18th-century period writing in various places throughout, with the majority near the first and the last leaves. Part of the upper right corner of most the pages has been worn away. While this doesn't affect the text, it does affect the page numbers. Lacks the front free flyleaf, book opens to the first page being the title page. Not Ex-Lib. Housed in a beautiful maroon custom clamshell box with suede lining and gilt-titled leather spine label.

An exceptionally SCARCE pre-Revolutionary North Carolina printing of this important book of legal procedures and precedents, which appeared in various forms throughout the colonies and in England. The R.L.G. Union Catalogue lists only two copies, at the Library of Congress and Harvard, and both of those are imperfect, having four of the pages in signature E (pp. 25-32) duplicated, the others lacking. The present copy is complete and collated correctly. Item #100610
