SIGNED by the author on front pastedown. Conner's signature is scarce to find on the market. I'm not aware of any other signed copies of his pre-war legal work in existence.

James Conner (September 1, 1829 – June 26, 1883), was a Confederate States Army brigadier-general during the American Civil War. He was a lawyer in South Carolina both before and after the war and was elected Attorney General of South Carolina in 1876. Item #100158
